51重口猎奇鈥檚 University (SAU) has partnered with the Wayne County Community College District (WCCCD) in Detroit, MI, to allow WCCCD students eligible for articulated course credits at SAU to attend the university.听
The Articulation Program formed between the two institutions allows SAU to provide articulation benefits at no charge to past and present students at the college who meet the articulation criteria and academic requirements. Furthermore, SAU will review the students鈥� applications for admission according to the standard SAU admission application criteria while favorably recognizing students鈥� accomplishments at the WCCCD. In addition, $2,000 scholarships are also available to eligible students.
鈥淭he launching of our HBCU Urban Access Hubs ensures that we will no longer define ourselves through our traditional structures,鈥� said SAU President Dr. Christine Johnson McPhail. 鈥淭his articulation agreement delivers our promise of providing听听by leveraging the kinship between two American inventions – community colleges and HBCUs.鈥澨�
Upon executing this agreement, SAU will work with WCCCD to develop strategies to provide WCCCD students and graduates with the necessary information about program opportunities and requirements for transferring credits. In addition, an appointed staff member at each institution will publish and review transfer Degree Pathways and Degree Plans annually to ensure continued communication. Through these activities, the institutions will work simultaneously to modify their policies, procedures, etc., to accommodate the changing needs of their students.听
鈥淥ur mission has always been to provide pathways to better lives through higher education,鈥� said WCCCD Chancellor Dr. Curtis L. Ivery. 鈥淭his articulation agreement is firmly within that mission and expands on our existing transfer programs and university partnerships to help more students obtain advanced degrees seamlessly.鈥澨�
Though the partnership ensures a smoother transfer process, it does not alter the admission and academic requirements for specific baccalaureate degrees. Instead, this partnership makes it easier for WCCCD students and those currently at SAU to remain on track and know what is needed. Therefore, SAU鈥檚 admission, academic, and graduation requirements remain unchanged.听
