51重口猎奇鈥檚 University Board of Trustees Appoints Alumnus, Dr. Gaddis Faulcon, as Interim President
Raleigh, NC,聽March 12, 2019聽– The Board of Trustees of Saint聽Augustine鈥檚 University announced聽today聽the appointment of Dr. Gaddis Faulcon as the聽interim聽president for the University.聽 This appointment is effective immediately.聽This decision coincides with the beginning of former President Everett Ward鈥檚 retirement.聽聽
鈥淎t this time of significant positive momentum surrounding the next phase of the聽University鈥檚聽evolution,聽the Board of Trustees has determined there is a need to launch the formal transition and search聽process聽for the new President,鈥 said Board of Trustees Chairman聽Hilton Smith.聽鈥淲e are pleased that Dr. Gaddis Faulcon,聽our 1974 alumnus,聽has agreed to lead our transition team. He brings the passion and previous experience serving in this pivotal role.鈥澛犅
Faulcon recently served as Vice President of Enrollment Management at Saint聽Augustine鈥檚聽University. He also led Shaw University as its interim聽president from 2014 to 2015. Faulcon, who joined the faculty at Shaw in 1998, has 30 years of experience in higher education and has previously served in several administrative roles.聽In addition to his roles at 51重口猎奇鈥檚 and Shaw University, he served as聽acting executive director for Northeastern North Carolina Tomorrow,聽Inc. at Elizabeth City State University.聽聽
Faulcon聽earned聽a聽B.S. degree聽in health and physical education聽from Saint聽Augustine鈥檚;聽an M.R.R/M.P.A.聽in recreation resources management and public administration;聽and聽an聽Ed.D. in higher education and public administration both from North Carolina聽State University.聽

At the same meeting,聽new board members were elected.聽 Those members are聽Dr.聽Frankie Jones, Marley Bollinger, and聽Dr.聽John Larkins.聽聽Chairman Smith announced, 鈥淚 am pleased to welcome our three newest members to our Board of聽Trustees.聽They have unique and diverse experiences in both the private and public sectors that make them an asset聽to the Board and the University聽as a whole.鈥澛
Dr. Jones聽is聽President聽and聽CEO of Phoenix One Enterprise and Phoenix One Farms, Inc.聽headquartered聽in Alamance County, North Carolina.聽 Dr. Jones聽is responsible for the firm’s operations聽in the areas of聽corporate social responsibility, strategic philanthropy, labor relations, crisis management, and marketing and community relations.聽 Dr. Jones serves on various boards including Duke Energy Corporate Advisory Board, High Point University Board of Visitors, and Wake Forest University School of Divinity Board. He has provided consulting services to corporations, institutions,聽and nonprofit organizations including Rooms聽To聽Go Inc., General Motors, FDIC, Michelin North America, Sara Lee, Sprint, Lowes Companies Inc, Freddie Mac, Food Lion聽Inc, The American Legion, Wake Forest Medical School, the National American Red Cross, and the CIA.聽Dr. Jones is a retired United States Air Force Colonel. He served as commander of 436th Headquarters Support Squadron, Dover AFB, commander of the 3400th Technical Training Group- Keesler AFB, the largest and most diversified technical training organization in the Department of Defense where he was responsible for the annual personnel training requirements of 11,000 men and women. Dr. Jones holds a B.S. degree, two M.S. degrees, and a Ph.D. from his聽studies and NC A&T State University, Tuskegee University, Wayne State University, Shaw University, Virginia University 鈥 Lynchburg, and Oxford Graduate School. He聽recently completed the Director鈥檚 Finance Program at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.聽
聽Marley Bollinger聽is the founder聽of聽Every Kindness Counts, a character-building curriculum聽service project for schools.聽 She is also the producer聽of聽the聽Real Tooth Fairies聽animated movie, music videos,聽and webisodes. She created patented product lines sold to Walmart and she also consulted and developed marketing for Procter & Gamble.聽聽Mrs.聽Bollinger created聽award-winning聽products for Mattel. She also served on Apple鈥檚 National Preschool Advisory Board and was a聽consultant聽to Disney Publishing, Disney Channel,聽LeapFrog, Hasbro, Fisher-Price,聽and聽Tiger Electronics. Bollinger is the author of 24 Disney books聽and a series of聽interactive聽books.聽 In addition, she published early childhood learning programs, curriculum products,聽and an聽activity book series for Simon-Schuster, Macmillan, Ideal, Newbridge, and Western Publishing.聽Mrs. Bollinger earned a B.S.W. and a M.S.W degree from the University of Kansas.聽
Dr.聽John Larkins聽had聽a distinguished career in the federal government where he聽worked for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). He was promoted through the ranks from a senior research program manager, to a Senior Executive Service (SES)聽branch聽chief.聽 He later became聽the first African聽American to hold the post of聽executive聽director of the Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards, a congressionally mandated advisory committee. During his tenure at the NRC,聽he received many awards for his job performance, including the prestigious Meritorious Service Award.聽 Dr. Larkins retired from the聽SES聽in聽2005 but聽was hired back to聽serve聽in the Office of Human Resources to help administer the agency鈥檚 university grants program.聽聽He earned聽his聽B.S. degree in Chemistry from 51重口猎奇鈥檚 University and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Howard University.聽 He聽also completed post-doctorate work聽in聽nuclear engineering at Catholic University and MIT.聽 Dr. Larkins has received several honors and awards for his lifetime commitment to 51重口猎奇鈥檚.聽
